History

Deltanode was started in 2005 as a project in SHL Group by a team of Swedish wireless professionals with backgrounds from Ericsson, Allgon, Powerwave, Radiosystem and Motorola.

Our first order was for an RF subsystem allowing wireless hotspots on Swedish trains using 3G networks. The initial work to develop and launch a small-medium power repeater and a portfolio of repeaters was completed in mid-2007. By then customer demos and trials in Asia and Europe had started, early feedback was positive, and initial orders were confirmed. Due to the flexibility of the product platform, Deltanode was able to quickly develop different frequency versions including highpower models.

In May 2006, a long term contract was signed with a US company to develop a fiber optic distribution RF system (DAS). This project leveraged Deltanode’s repeater platform work and added fiber optic compatibility in addition to the company’s unique IP and WEB concept. Deliveries were made in an 18 month window, starting on January 2008 when the project (including FCC testing) was completed.

In 2008, Deltanode took the initiative to develop products for the European safety network, Tetra, as it was understood that repeaters and DAS products were needed to enhance coverage. This decision paid off, as products were launched in the Spring of 2009 with deliveries commencing shortly after.
